We are pleased to launch our new EAP website, but more importantly, what do we do?

The Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program, a subsidiary of the Biomedical Research Foundation, serves local entrepreneurs by evaluating their startups, connecting founders to investors and providing resources for technology, financial planning and market research. The accelerator aims to provide opportunities to Louisiana for new business growth, high-tech development industry leadership and job expansion. The EAP aspires to be part of a new economic era in the state to combat a shrinking population and the exodus of large companies.eap-blog-CTASince its beginning one year ago, the EAP has launched one startup and helped three others receive funding. Three startups are also currently being evaluated by a team at the EAP to determine if they are able to advance with their ideas. So far, the accelerator has nurtured Shreveport companies like Swaybox Studios, Mainspree and Embera NeuroTherapeutics to industry success. Several other innovative startups are moving through the accelerator pipeline, entities of potential energy ready to open new jobs and strengthen the local economy. The concept on which the EAP is based stems from the entrepreneurial accelerator IC2, a new venture research organization housed at the University of Texas at Austin. Much of Austin’s explosion of job growth and innovative environment is attributed to the work of IC2, a model the EAP follows and with which strives to spur a similar effect on the Shreveport and Bossier City areas as well as the rest of Louisiana. By taking the initiative to give entrepreneurs access to resources they may not have otherwise obtained, the EAP is benefiting future generations by stimulating prosperity in Louisiana.
