For the fifth straight year, BRF President and CEO John F. George Jr., M.D., and Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP) Executive Director Dave Smith have been named to Silicon Bayou’s Top 100 List. The list is a compilation of the 100 most influential people in tech and entrepreneurship in Louisiana.
Since 2013 and under George’s leadership, BRF has expanded its innovative take on economic development by creating EAP, the Digital Media Institute at InterTech, Envision Research and the New Louisiana Angel Funds. EAP and its portfolio companies have helped create more than 270 new jobs with a payroll of $15.3 million and almost $100 million in capital raised for companies headquartered in North Louisiana. Since inception, EAP has provided services to 288 companies or entrepreneurs.
